Sebastien Aguilar

Sebastien Aguilar is senior consultant in energy and sustainability at DNV GL - Energy. He has six years of experience in project management and business development in the fields of energy management, sustainable development and climate change mitigation. In his current role, Sebastien identifies, develops, and secures multi-million dollar consultancy projects. He also leads international teams of 15 to 20 engineers and consultants on strategic projects in the GCC region. He is actively engaged in developing sustainable energy management practices, including energy efficiency, renewable energy generation and sustainable energy systems. He has experience in GHG accounting at corporate and national levels, in GHG emission reduction projects, alternative financing (carbon credits and energy performance contracting) and has a natural interest for sustainable energy for poverty alleviation. Sebastien is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM – Association of Energy Engineers, USA), he holds a Master in Civil Engineering (Polytechnic School of Louvain, LLN, Belgium) and a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Technologies (Southampton University, UK). He is also certified Prince 2 foundation project manager (APMG International, UK) and GHG accounting lead verifier (ISO 14064, Bureau Veritas, UAE). Sebastien enjoys expanding his knowledge and understanding of global issues such as energy, poverty and climate change.
