This author no longer works for DNV GL. Craig Lawrence was formerly a principal consultant, Cyber Security and Infrastructure Protection, at DNV GL. During five years as the NERC Manager of Organization Registration, Certification, and Compliance Monitoring, Mr. Lawrence (1) developed and implemented the NERC Compliance Registry for the registration of approximately 1800 owners, operators and users of the North American Bulk Electric System for over 4500 functional designations; (2) developed and implemented the NERC Certification process for all NERC registered Reliability Coordinators (RC), Balancing Authorities (BA), and Transmission Operators (TOP) including performance of certification audits; and (3) managed all phases of the NERC Compliance Monitoring Enforcement Program (CMEP) for four large RC/BA/TOP entities including periodic audits and compliance enforcement for NERC 693 and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. Mr. Lawrence is a NERC certified 693 and CIP Lead Auditor. In his five years as a senior project manager for a large SCADA/EMS vendor, he performed duties with total responsibility for project management of twelve major SCADA/EMS/GMS projects. He performed technical and management review along with risk analysis and regulatory requirements review of customer system specification documents. He developed and maintained all project schedules including risk assessment, resource assignments, travel scheduling and approval, and project team meetings. During his 15 years as a senior consultant in the Nuclear Power industry, he managed and directed numerous projects for materials development, administration, and implementation of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) audits and utility training program development and implementation. He interfaced with senior NRC personnel on project regulatory requirements and performed duties as the lead examiner for SRO/RO requalification license examinations. Mr. Lawrence is a certified NRC Operating Examination Lead Auditor and holds NRC Reactor Operator (RO) and Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) licenses.  To join Mr. Lawrence’s professional network on LinkedIn, click here.
